Painting Explained:

During my sophomore year of college, my professor assigned us a painting based on a controversial issue. I had no doubt the painting would be Pro-life but as the due date drew near I grew frustrated. Ideas eluded me as I continually strained concepts that resulted in nothing. This is when an inspiration revealed itself. I was walking along a waterfront overthinking the painting. In despair and tears, I begin to pray. At that instant, I saw a vision of row upon rows of white crosses and Jesus one-by-one picked up the cross’ to bring them to Heaven.

The final composition of the painting, depicts Our Lord’s love and mercy for all of His children, especially the innocent unborn babies whose lives were snuffed out from abortions. The earth is in the dark background of outer space with tiny white crosses, row upon row rising from the darkness towards the light representing the countless millions of children killed through abortions. White roses are centered in the middle of each cross; hidden within each white rose are silhouettes of tiny babies representing the holy innocence. Jesus’ hands cradle and welcome each one of these precious children to new life in Heaven. The rainbow rays embody Jesus’ most glorious healing presence of peace, love and mercy. The rose in Jesus’ hand is vibrant red characterizing His love, passion, and life for each little innocent soul and His forgiveness for the men and women who have repented from the betrayal from the lie of abortion.
